FCB New Zealand launches new MADtech offering

8 July 2019: FCB New Zealand is excited to announce the acceleration of its investment in the data-driven intersection of advertising technology and marketing technology – sometimes referred to as Madtech. Previously part of its highly awarded NZ media offering, this will now be recognised as a core and distinct discipline within FCB NZ.

The team will continue to deliver leading data strategy and technology consulting, marketing automation, loyalty, CX, solution design, systems implementation and integration, and business intelligence services. They will also contribute to FCB’s global development of voice-interface marketing, retail ecosystems, and personalised communications – implementing those solutions for clients in New Zealand and Australia.

This acceleration allows FCB NZ to recognise the contribution of Qassem Naim, who will be joining the NZ Management Team and driving this offering forward.

Naim has bootstrapped FCB NZ’s Data & Tech team since his arrival in New Zealand in 2016. The existing team has generated exceptional results for clients including Mercury, Flight Centre, Foodstuffs, Audi/Volkswagen, and Vodafone.

The quality and effectiveness of this work was recently recognised at the 2019 Beacons Awards, winning over half of all awards in the “Best use of Data” category, including two-thirds of that category’s Golds which also won all the Gold awards in the “Most Effective” category and the “Best in Show” award.

The team has built best-in-market partnerships with global ad-tech and marketing tech providers such as Adobe/Marketo, Google and Salesforce and it is expected that these and other partner relationships will strengthen in line with this additional focus and investment.

Commenting on the new development, CEO Paul Shale said, “The belief in the power of creativity unleashed by data has been central to FCB NZ’s ability to help our clients change New Zealand for better. There are few people in NZ who truly understand the effective balance between creativity, brand, data and technology like Q does. And not many, if any, with his boundless energy and enthusiasm. We are deeply excited about the commitment we’re making, and thrilled that Q is leading the charge for us.”

The new discipline is launched with immediate effect.
